Jill Perkins Young Writers Contest Guidelines


Poetry

  1. The work must be your own.
  2. The subject matter must be appropriate.
  3. The poem should be single spaced and no longer than 30 lines. Use Times New Roman, 12 pt.
  4. Do not rely on spell check. Read your entry thoroughly for spelling before submitting.

Fiction or Nonfiction

  1. The work must be your own.
  2. The subject matter must be appropriate.
  3. Word count: 500 to 2000 words.
  4. The work must be double-spaced, using Times New Roman, 12 pt. 
  1. Do not rely on spell check. Read your entry thoroughly for grammar and spelling before submitting.

Include a cover sheet for your entry with:
Name
Telephone Number with Area Code
Email Address
School
Grade in school
Contest Category
Title of Entry

Winning entries may be selected for inclusion in the St. Joseph Writer’s Guild Anthology.

DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY USING GOOGLE DOCS.

Deadline for submission TO the 2017 contest is February 1st, 2017.
