Also please share this information about an essay contest on disability awareness:

20th Anniversary Disability Awareness
ESSAY CONTEST

This year marks MERIL’s 20th Anniversary and we are proud to celebrate our existence and the services we continue to provide many in our nine county region.

Writing is a creative outlet for youth as well as adults. Youth often express effectively on paper what they have difficulty saying aloud. This essay contest for Disability Awareness gives area youth the opportunity to express their thoughts about disability and how attitudes and actions affect people with disabilities. We want to teach young adults and children that people with disabilities are the same as everyone else. While there are many types of disabilities, it is important that youth of all ages have a general understanding of disabilities and how they should treat people with disabilities.
